Every journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. For Võ Văn Chọn, an alumnus of the Finance & Banking program (Cohort 16), his most memorable youthful steps were taken under the roof of Kien Giang College (KGC). Today, let us look back at the inspiring story of an alumnus who not only excelled academically and passionately engaged in sports, but also demonstrated exceptional business acumen in the professional arena.
When mentioning Võ Văn Chọn, faculty members and peers remember an energetic student who was always at the forefront of extracurricular activities. For him, the college campus was not just a place to acquire knowledge, but also a training ground to build personal resilience.
Driven by a passion for sports and community service, Mr. Chọn actively participated in events ranging from voluntary blood donation drives to startup innovation contests. On the volleyball court, he and his teammates delivered captivating matches, bringing home proud achievements: First Prize in the college-level Men's Volleyball Tournament, Second Prize at the provincial level, and a Consolation Prize in the Startup Innovation Competition.
Reflecting on his time at KGC, Mr. Chọn expresses deep gratitude toward the college. He shares that the dynamic learning environment, modern facilities, and dedicated support from faculty provided a solid foundation, helping him absorb knowledge effectively.
Like many fresh graduates, his initial transition into the workforce presented significant challenges. Entering a professional environment meant encountering unfamiliar territory with virtually zero prior experience. However, the determination of a volleyball athlete kept him moving forward. Combining perseverance with the foundational knowledge and skills gained at KGC, Mr. Chon proactively sought learning opportunities. His sincerity and dedication earned him guidance and mentorship from senior colleagues.
Upon graduation, Võ Văn Chọn joined DBV Insurance Joint Stock Company – Phương Nam Branch as a Sales Specialist. Overcoming a demanding probation period, he not only secured a permanent position but also achieved impressive performance breakthroughs. The ultimate reward for his relentless effort and perseverance was earning the title of Top Revenue Achiever at his unit in 2025—a compelling testament to the capability and drive of a KGC alumnus.
The journey of Võ Văn Chọn —from an enthusiastic student involved in campus activities to an outstanding Sales Specialist—serves as clear proof that today's efforts define tomorrow's success.
