On the morning of April 18, 2026, the Kien Giang College (KGC) Student Union organized the 2025-2026 Campus-wide English Olympic and a specialized Foreign Language Forum. This event was held to celebrate the 1st Congress of the An Giang Provincial Student Union for the 2026-2028 tenure, attracting over 50 students from various faculties across the college.

The competition featured two distinct categories: English/Tourism English majors and Non-English majors. Participants navigated through two rigorous rounds: a General Knowledge Quiz and a Thematic Presentation.

Competition Highlights

• Round 1 (Knowledge Quiz): Candidates tackled 30 multiple-choice questions within 15 minutes. The top five performers from each category advanced to the finals. Notably, Nguyễn Ngọc Khánh Trân (Restaurant Management batch 19) achieved the highest score in the shortest time.
• Round 2 (Presentation): The finalists showcased their perspectives on contemporary issues, including:
  • The role of foreign languages in career opportunities.
  • Mental health awareness among students.
  • Lifelong learning initiatives.
  • Preserving cultural identity in the era of integration.

Non-English Major Category:

• First Prize: Nguyễn Ngọc Khánh Trân (Restaurant Management batch 19)
• Second Prize: Ngũ Văn Tỏa (Hotel Management 1 batch 19)
• The two Consolation Prizes were awarded to: Phạm Phúc Trường and Lưu Dương Lĩnh, Electrical and Electronic Engineering Technology 1, batch 19.

Beyond the main competition, the Foreign Language Forum provided a dynamic space for students to improve pronunciation, expand their vocabulary, and enhance their global integration knowledge.

The English Olympic is an annual hallmark of the KGC Student Union. It aims to ignite a passion for language learning and helps students meet the "Global Integration" criteria for the "Student of 5 Merits" title. This initiative continues to empower KGC students to lead in socio-economic development and international integration.
