The professional journey of Nguyễn Minh Đương, an alumnus of Cohort 8 from the Faculty of Tourism and Foreign Languages at Kien Giang College (KGC), serves as a clear testament to this career versatility.

Đương currently serves as a Restaurant Chain Supervisor at the Corona Food Center within the Corona Casino Phu Quoc complex. Working in a high-volume, international environment has enabled him to continuously hone his managerial skills and expand his expertise in hospitality services.
In his supervisory role, Đương manages and oversees operations across the center’s dining venues to ensure service quality meets corporate standards. His daily responsibilities include workforce planning, service procedure oversight, food and service quality control, financial management, and cross-departmental coordination to handle operational issues.

Additionally, he directly trains and evaluates staff, monitors performance across individual restaurants, builds a professional workplace, and proposes strategic solutions to enhance customer experience and operational efficiency. He also regularly participates in advanced corporate training programs to stay aligned with evolving industry standards.
Reflecting on his time at KGC, Đương notes that core academic knowledge alongside soft skills—such as teamwork, communication, public speaking, and time management—built a solid foundation for his transition into the corporate world. The dedicated guidance and practical insights shared by his lecturers further instilled the confidence needed to navigate his career.

Recalling his student years, Đương warmly remembers class sessions, faculty activities, extracurricular events, and late-night group projects with classmates—experiences that offered not only practical knowledge, but also lasting friendships and valuable memories.
Sharing advice with current KGC students, Đương emphasizes: “Value your time at college, proactively learn, and continuously sharpen your skills. Step out of your comfort zone by joining extracurriculars, internships, and real-world projects. Above all, maintain a mindset of continuous improvement, stay eager to learn, and trust in your potential.”
