Parting ways at the end of a journey brings shared joy of growth, pride in past perseverance, and fond memories of time well spent. On August 14, 2026, Kien Giang College (KGC) hosted the Closing Ceremony of the Access English Scholarship Program, celebrating the hard work and dedication of 28 graduates.
Funded by the U.S. Department of State, this international initiative provides talented high school students from disadvantaged backgrounds (aged 13–20) with a fully funded, high-quality two-year English training program. This marks the third consecutive time KGC has been chosen by the U.S. Embassy in Vietnam to deliver the program locally.

The ceremony was held in a warm, welcoming atmosphere, attended by Ms. Brett Alexandra Walkley, Cultural Affairs Officer at the U.S. Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City; Ms. Âu Ân Như, English Language Programs Manager at the U.S. Consulate General; Dr. Nguyễn Đông Hải and Dr. Nguyễn Thị Hoàng Quyên, Vice Rectors of Kien Giang College; along with program instructors and parents.
In their addresses, Dr. Nguyễn Thị Hoàng Quyên and Ms. Brett Alexandra Walkley commended the graduates for their steady academic progress, resilience, and unflagging effort. Expressing deep appreciation, student representatives presented bouquets of fresh flowers to the distinguished guests for their steadfast support.
A highlight of the event was the presentation of Certificates of Completion to the students. Beyond recognizing academic achievements, each certificate stands as a lasting keepsake of shared challenges, shared learning, and personal growth. In addition, Certificates of Teaching Completion were awarded to the instructors in recognition of their dedication to creating an inspiring environment where students could build language proficiency, communication skills, and self-confidence.
While each student brought a unique story, all shared a common passion for learning and self-improvement. Beyond gaining English fluency, students built new friendships and developed greater confidence and initiative.
As this chapter draws to a close, new horizons open up. Equipped with practical skills and real-world experience, the Access graduates are well-prepared to pursue their future ambitions with confidence and determination.
